A much more cost effective way to promote your business online, achieved through SEO, social media, blogs and other digital channels

What is online PR and how can it benefit your business?

Also known as digital PR, it is a tactic used by businesses to improve their online presence by building relationships with bloggers and online journalists, among other influencers.

Carried out effectively, online PR will use content marketing and can have a positive effect on search engine optimisation (SEO) efforts and can help increase a brand’s visibility.

How does online PR differ from traditional PR?

Online PR is almost the same as traditional PR but instead of advertising in newspapers and magazines, we make use of blogs, social media, seo and other websites relevant to your business.

Many (but certainly not all) traditional PR agents don’t have enough experience of digital channels to take advantage of all the opportunities. The focus of traditional PR has tended to be offline visibility, including press releases, print media and radio.

The digital revolution has allowed for a far more personalised experience, with many more opportunities to reach relevant influencers in your business sphere, rather than paying extortionate amounts for a newspaper editorial or advertorial, which relies on readership numbers rather than actual, solid engagement data.

How can TM Digital help?

Our digital PR professionals can help you to create an online PR strategy to help build buzz around your brand and support your overall marketing efforts.

Online PR strategies follow four key areas:

  1. Attracting visitors through search;
  2. Engagement and dialogue;
  3. Building campaign buzz;
  4. Defensive/crisis.

Dependent on what your business hopes to achieve, we’ll develop tactics to achieve your digital PR objectives. At the heart of every campaign, though, is storytelling.

Tiernan Marketing not only designed a website which perfectly captured my aspirations and which attracts awed compliments (and at a very reasonable cost) – they also made the whole process simple and delightful. I couldn’t be more pleased, and I recommend them very highly!

Thank you Tiernan Marketing for your help and advice in the development of our e-marketing. Suzy, your flexibility with meetings, your approachability and patience were very much appreciated by us both – we felt we could ask you any question and you took the time to explain. We both agree that our investment in Tiernan Marketing’s services has given us a good introduction into the world of social media.

I approached Suzy to sort out some issues that others had struggled with. She was flexible and focussed on my needs rather than applying a standard methodology. She worked to a tight deadline and delivered on time and on budget.

Since working with Tiernan Marketing AGS Noise Control Limited have finally got a website with key search terms on page 1 of Google which in turn has generated our business many new orders from new clients totalling over £250K which I am sure we would not have won without an effective website!

I just wanted to say thanks for your presentation at our team away day – I introduced Pinterest the next day to a class I teach in New Parks, where we look at creative and interesting ways to decorate your home on a limited budget. They all loved it and installed it on their phones straight away, and by that evening we had created a very busy Pinterest page that we all now regularly use to share ideas and show our work. From now on I will be introducing this to project participants as standard practise. I’ve also now set up other boards for the various strands of Soft Touch, which some of our young people are working on as we speak. It’s a perfect tool for what we need. Thanks again for your demonstration, it was really useful!

Suzy and Richard immediately arranged a meeting to discuss my requirements for the website. I found Suzy and Richard very helpful and they worked closely with me in a “step by step” approach to make sure that the end product was to my complete satisfaction. Tiernan Marketing implemented my requirements completely but more importantly proactively added their own design and technical input which I would not have thought of necessary on my own. This included tweets from the RICS website and a nice friendly approachable tone to my website of which I believe added the necessary sparkle to the website. I am very pleased with the website and clients have already approached me through the website for new business opportunities. This demonstrates that the website markets my business in the way I had hoped for at the very start.
